Privacy notice

This notice covers the Sightline website and the Sightline app for macOS. The short version: neither collects personal data.

The website

This website is a static page. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and collects no data about you. The only third party request it makes is for the Manrope web font, which is loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser sends its IP address to Google to fetch the font. Google's privacy policy applies to that request.

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages by GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Like any web host, GitHub records technical details of each request (such as IP address, time, requested page and browser) in server logs to run and secure the service. We have no access to these logs. See GitHub's privacy statement for details.

The app

• Sightline has no user accounts and no sign in.
• The app collects no usage data, no crash reports and no analytics, and it sends nothing to the developer.
• Screenshots are stored only on your Mac, in the folder you choose. They are never uploaded.
• AI agents (such as Claude Code, Claude Desktop or Codex) reach Sightline through a local MCP server on your Mac. What an agent then does with a screenshot is governed by that agent's own privacy policy, not by Sightline.
• Sightline asks macOS for screen recording permission to take screenshots. You can revoke it at any time in System Settings.

Purchases and the free trial

Sightline is sold through the Mac App Store. The trial and the purchase are handled entirely by Apple. Apple processes your payment details and Apple ID under Apple's privacy policy. The developer receives no personal data from a purchase.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, and to complain to a data protection authority (in Austria, the Datenschutzbehörde). Since we hold no personal data about you, there is normally nothing to access or delete. If you email us for support, we keep your message only as long as needed to answer it.
